My Kitten Neutering experience
Hi I would like to share my neutering experience with cat owners who love their little kitties and this is specially for those who are scared to make their cat undergo the process. My kitty was 8 months old and I was really scared of getting him neutered as I loved him very much. I tried to avoid it at much as possible even though people told me to neuter him at 6 months. But the 7th month onwards my lil boy was howling and irritated , by the 8th month he was so damn aggressive and irritated and felt so frustrated and miserable. I couldn't bear his howling and moaning. He used to look at the door and howl and howl as he wanted to go out and run and look for a mate. Ass he kept on getting more aggressive , i finally decided to get him neutered just so that he would calm down. So finally i called up and decided the date of the surgery.
At the vet ( the D-day)
He hated the vet , and hissed at him in the clinic. We had to put him forcefully in a cage and i got scratched in the process :)
Then the vet told me come back in a few hours .
After 2 hours i get a call , to come and pick him up and that the operation was over. The vet told me everything went well and he is sleeping cos he was sedated.
I rush to the hospital and saw our kitty in a cage , sedated.. but with his eyes open and his tongue hanging out.
I took him out , paid the bills and put him on my wifes lap. He lay there with his eyes open - sedated !
As i was driving to my home , the sedation started wearing off , and my kitty slowly started moving his legs in the car , and in another 5 minutes he got out of my wife's lap and moved to the empty seat and was looking out of the window . I was expecting him to cry in pain as the sedation was over. But he was silent , not even a 'meow' . He then slowly shakingly walked towards my lap whilst I was driving and somehow weakly managed to pull himself to come on top of my lap and he lay there. He was feeling so weak and fragile. But not a sound of pain , absolutely nothing. Calm! Finally I reached home .
At home - an hour after sedation wears off. (same day of the operation @ noon)
I lay him on his bed , I brought his litter tray and food from his room and put it in our room (yea my kitty has his own room ). I had also made a small comfy bed for him. He lay there , pretty peaceful and looking up at us.this time he was up on his front paws and the remaining half of the body resting. In a few minutes he got up and started walking around wobbling. He looked like a drunk man trying to make his way from the bar to the his parked car :)
He then went and had his food slowly , but he couldn't sit down properly to have it. He then started taking his itsy bitsy steps and walked towards his room where the litter was kept on his balcony , just to find it missing , cos i had kept it in my room for his ease of use . I immediately put his litter back in his room and he used it without much issue.
At home - 5 hours after sedation wears off. (same day of the operation @ evening/night)
He started to walk almost normally (70% back to normal), not even crying one bit. That still suprises me. But he was tired and his eyes were puffy. He ate his food and went back to sleep. He kept on sleeping for long time intervals.
Day 1 - After neutering
This is the heights of fast recovery. My boy is started running around slowly. then he sleeps , gets up and walks , then sleeps ,eats food normally sitting down. This time he was 80% better , but still a bit weak , so he was quiet and just lay down most of the time.
Day 2 -After neutering
Walking and movement is almost close to normal , and he hasn't made any howling noises and hasn't scratched or bitten me as yet :) . His scrotum is red , swollen and all stitched up , kinda scary , like out of the zombie movies.
Day 3 -After neutering
My boy starts running around like crazy with full of spirit and life. He eats , plays and wants to jump around. His scrotum is still deep red
Day 4 -After neutering
He is back to normal ,but much nicer to deal with and gentler and quiter, his scrotum starts healing and it starts drying up /healing.
3 Weeks - After neutering
My kitty has transformed itself into such an angel who doesn't howl anymore. Its as if he has miraculously stopped howling. He doesn't want to roam out anymore that frequently.
He seems healthier , happier and more peaceful , than his previously frustrated self. He is peaceful and I am also peaceful now as I don't have to hear that moaning and groaning.
Advice to pet owners who do neutering
Go Ahead - your cat will be safe , healthier , smarter , sane , and yes most importantly 2 things , 1) the howling stops 2)he wont bother you to take him out for walks much.
All the best. The cost of neutering is only Rupees 750 in my area.

Zoya
Our new feline friend was something that brought a spark into our lives. Its keeps us active. He was only 30 days old when i adopted him . We were even confused about the gender initially .
But having him around was real nice .Little did I know that kittens go through the phase of teething . He was biting every second at our feet . in a couple of weeks he was a mini predator :)
Pretty neat guy , goes only in his litter . Likes cleanliness.
Zoya , is what we named him , assuming it was a female , but the name continues despite being a male . We luv him as keeps us on our toes all the time .

Photographing the Kathakali.

Ever since I took photography as a hobby , i wanted to take an excellent shot of the kathakali cos it was so colourful and beautiful. Then the day came , I still remmember , it was a saturday night. I went all prepared to shoot pics of it. There were around 200 spectators. I went near the stage , put off my Flash and turned the camera to the P mode and put on a 75-300 zoom lens and started clicking away. Luckily for me there was good lighting on the stage. Shooting time was from 7:00 pm to 10 pm. I knew if I had to get the best shot I had to take the pain. So i stood 3 hours and clicked away .

I took over a hundred in raw format to get the precision clarity. No photoshop has been used in this photograph. I just drew a border around it thats all. The lighting was just right. Meanwhile while photographing this , I also found the kathakali pretty interesting. It was nice.

I also took photos of several other artists that appeared in this show. On the whole...after 3 hours of standing and over a 100 shots , the pain was worth it. I guess a true photographer must walk the extra mile always :)

Genie in the bottle
Imagine if you were a genie in a bottle , and burried away deep into the darkest caves . And the only way to break the spell and come out was this was.... "Atleast 5 people whom you have had a very strong relationship and broke off with you completely , must come and rub your bottle in order to set you free "....it can be your your ex lover , or your ex best friend. The question is.... How many of them will come to release the genie from the bottle ?
I dont think even one person will come to free the genie from the bottle ...forget about 5 of them. So how long do you think the genie will be in the bottle ? 1 year ?...10 years ??..1000 years ???....infinity ???? forever and ever ??? The genie is trapped in the bottle ... ,trapped forever...none of the friends or relations whom he laughed and played with will come to free him....Many years ago , when these relations were strong , All of them played together , loved one another , some were best friends who shared everything ...these relations were real bonds which were broken off due to some unfortunate circumstances and cannot be repaired. Sad. After the relation , no one thinks of the other , or if they do they either try to forget the person. They hardly look at each other , there is a sudden transformation and they become complete strangers who dont even look or smile at each other.
The genie lies trapped in the bottle , till infinity with no one to rescue him.
So is it really worth brooding over a broken relationship ? They wont come to your rescue at all , so what is the point in worrying about it ?
We do not have to lead the life of a genie in a bottle...In life we have two options , we can choose to fall deep into the pulling pits of misery , or we can choose to get up and come back into the real world and re-live our lives better than ever... the choice is ours.

Black Spidey
Is it possible for us to be a good person alwayS and always go correctly as per the books ? Do we have it in us to be good always ? Hey most of us are good at heart , but sometimes being too good can lead to a downfall and end up having people treading over you. You become weak. Sometimes after being good for many years , and when you see all the bad people are doing well ,we tend to doubt , whether all our goodness was worth it ? After many years of being good , we may slowly slip for a moment towards our darker side for a while. Just like in the movie Spiderman 3 , where there is this 'good Spidey' and the 'bad Spidey'. Its not that spiderman was a bad person , but he too has his black sides despite being a superhero that saves people. But at the end of the Spidey story , the good overcomes the bad , and everyone is happy. I guess each one of us have black sides just as Spidey did. Yeah , we are all good people , its all about taming the black side. If we didnt have a black side ,perhaps we are not human. I guess its ok to be black Spidey for a short span , but we must make sure we return to our good selves at the end.
